It is said that when you educate a girl, you educate the entire nation. This article delves into the what the Great Achievers Network (GAN) has taken to heart the futures of the young girls. We will explore how their innovations are transforming girls lives with not only educational needs but also with the skills of life and mentorship.

The Great Achievers Network is an organization that was formed in November 2022, with only 4 girls and as of February, 2024 GAN has a membership of 30 girls. It supports focused girls having challenges in meeting basic educational needs. The organization provides books, shoes, pens, bags, sanitary towels and other necessities.

Their initiatives are not only to carter for the girl’s education, but to also provide them with life skill trainings, technological knowledge, entrepreneurship, self-awareness, catering, fashion and design so that the girls are properly equipped. They aim at having workshops where the girls are trained ad mentored.

Many lives are being uplifted in most communities of Zambia, specifically in Lusaka. The organization aims at impacting many more girls in Zambia and possibly the world at large.

I am a beneficiary of the Great Achievers Network and I had my first encounter with them when they donated sanitary towels at my former school at Chaisa Combined School, in 2023. The school is situated in a township known as Chaisa in Lusaka district. I have been helped not only academically but also with my personal life. I am glad to say that I am one of the members of the Great Achievers Network and upcoming brand ambassador. Through the help and support from GAN, I was able to score six (6) points at Grade twelve. This is a level just before university level and I am now looking forward to going to university.

The Great Achievers Network has a lot of goals set for this year. Jolin us on a journey to the future, where possibilities for a girl child are limitless and being unlocked that will bring us closer to a world we once imagined.
