Volunteer Guidelines and Rules

Commitment and Reliability:

  • Volunteers are expected to fulfill their commitments and honor their assigned tasks and schedules.
  • If unable to attend a scheduled volunteer shift, volunteers must notify their assigned supervisor or GAN representative in advance.

Respect and Professionalism:

  • Treat fellow volunteers, staff members, beneficiaries, and partners with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
  • Refrain from engaging in any form of discriminatory or disrespectful behavior, including but not limited to discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or any other characteristic.

Confidentiality and Privacy:

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all individuals associated with GAN, including beneficiaries, staff members, partners, and fellow volunteers.
  • Do not share any personal or sensitive information without proper authorization.

Safety and Security:

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols provided by GAN during volunteer activities.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to a GAN representative.

Compliance with Policies and Procedures:

  • Familiarize yourself with GAN’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct, and comply with them at all times.
  • Seek clarification from a GAN representative if any policy or procedure is unclear.

Proper Use of Resources:

  • Use GAN’s resources, equipment, and materials responsibly and solely for the purpose of carrying out volunteer duties.
  • Obtain proper authorization before using any GAN property or resources.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with your assigned supervisor, GAN staff, and fellow volunteers.
  • Collaborate and work as a team to achieve GAN’s goals and objectives.

Feedback and Suggestions:

  • Share constructive feedback, suggestions, and ideas with GAN representatives to help improve our programs and services.

Volunteer Termination:

  • GAN reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s involvement if they violate these guidelines or engage in any behavior deemed harmful or detrimental to the organization, beneficiaries, or other volunteers.

Partnership Guidelines and Rules

Shared Vision and Alignment:

  • Partners should have a shared vision and alignment with GAN’s mission, values, and objectives.
  • Collaborate to identify goals, expectations, and areas of joint interest.

Clear Communication:

  • Maintain open and timely communication with GAN representatives regarding partnership-related matters, updates, and progress.
  • Share relevant information, resources, and feedback to foster effective collaboration.

Transparency and Accountability:

  • Maintain transparency in financial transactions, if applicable, and provide accurate and timely reporting as agreed upon with GAN.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Respect and Professionalism:

  • Treat GAN’s staff members, volunteers, beneficiaries, and other partners with respect, fairness, and professionalism.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive environment free from discrimination, harassment, or any form of prejudice.

Intellectual Property and Confidentiality:

  • Respect and protect the intellectual property and confidential information shared between GAN and the partner.
  • Obtain proper authorization before using GAN’s name, logo, or any other branding materials.

Performance Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Regularly evaluate the partnership’s progress and effectiveness in achieving mutually agreed-upon objectives.
  • Be open to feedback and suggestions for improvement to enhance the partnership’s impact.

Dispute Resolution:

  • In the event of disagreements or disputes, work collaboratively to find an amicable resolution through open communication and negotiation.

Termination of Partnership:

  • Either party reserves the right to terminate the partnership agreement with reasonable notice if the collaboration is no longer mutually beneficial or if there is a breach of the agreed-upon terms.
